Canning Stock Route - April

Hey guys,

Been on here lurking for a while now. Finally decided to post as me and my girlfriend have a ride planned in April and would be happy for other adventure riders to join us!

We're doing an unsupported trip on the CSR in our DR650s. Plan is to leave early April from Perth. The trip should total no more than 3 weeks (possibly 4).

Being unsupported fuel will be a major issue, depending on your bike but for my and the missus we'll be having a minimum carrying capacity of 70l (35l tank and 40l external)

So if you're interested in joining us please hit us up!

Your mate,

Gouldie

Hey guys

Just saw your post and interested how you ended up getting on, ride report or Info would be greatly appreciated. How long did you manage between fuel stops and was their much availability along the road?.

Where planning a similar ride from Perth to exmouth late September

Any info would be greatly appreciated

The Canning Stock Route is not a 'hey guys .. lets do a trip here" kinda thing. You'll need some planning.. 1,800km ... one fuel stop, one fuel dump if you arrange it before hand. To start with read

Yep, one of the major issues is that it is like Bourke St at this time of year - biggest challenge is in avoiding collisions with oncoming vehicles.

Seriously Warin, I've just travelled through that area and the major concern of most 4WDers was whether or not they had brought sufficient alcoholic beverages with them to last the journey.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
