Hey Guys

Hey everyone!

Found the site after just finishing reading 'uneasy rider' (very enjoyable) and thought I would check it out.

Came out to Oz last March on a bit of a wim and ran out of money pretty damn quickly so been working for the last 6 months here in Sydney. Couple of months ago went out and brought a DRZ-400E to do a bit of off-roading at the weekends and then once I finish working jump on it and head somewhere...

So getting closer and closer to that magic time! I finish work on the 24th Oct, prob spend a week or 2 in Sydney sorting things out and getting back into the backpacker lifestyle before heading off up the coast but no real plans apart from that.

Time line is about 4 months but I doubt I have the money for that amount of time any must see / do's / stays up the east coast? Anyone riding in that area between Nov - Feb?

Need to get a new Dual sport rear tyre and prob re-gear the DRZ before heading off but apart from that all set

aah memories, I recall traveling up the east coast by van when i was 21 (only 4 years ago ), if I were you I'd stay away from the pacific hwy because it's long and boring, move inland until Byron then go to the gold coast (which is awesome at this time of year). Don't be fooled by the big-prawn, it sucks big-time.

lol, didn't really consider going inland on the way up (but prob would on the way down) but thats because I don't have a plan except for keeping the coast on my right hand side :P

Funny you should say about the big prawn, I've actually been asked by a mate for a photo of me by it, he's got some strange obsession with it even tho he's never been here.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
