Hi there, i'll be throught Australia very soon (N.S.W.), i have my international driver's licence now but expires 1 month and a half before my return to my country, do you know if i could get a driver's licence in N.S.W ?
The other question, i want to buy a bike in Australia and sell her before i get to my country, is there any paperwork to do, at least, i could bought her and then register her to my sister's name, she's australian for a long time. What do you recommend?
Cheers

Internatonal Drivers/Riders Permit (IDP) is simply a translation of your original licence .. does your original licence expire at the same time? Is it in english? If valid and in english then that would be acceptable to Ausies .. provided you are not taking up residence. You could get your IDP renewed by the issuing organisation .. but you'd need to organise that with them - try an email to see how they'd do it.
On buying a bike here .. yep .. use your sisters address . and bobs your uncle.

Idp
As long as your regular drivers license is not going to expire with in the next six months, it won't be a problem obtaining a new IDP..
As for the bike. As said above, I would use your sister's information.

Hi,
usually nobody cares about your driverlicence and if they check, they don't care or know, that it is expired.
We are travelling now for more than 18 months on our expired international driverlicence and had no problems.
Usually nobody checked our driverlicence anywhere in the world!!
Don't worry!!!
Best wishes from Perth

Thanks to all of you, i hope i'll be in good luck, today i have sold my XT 600 and i'll be looking for a XT overthere or perhaps a KTM 640, but i think the best choice would be a XT600, the KTM is a do it all bike but more complex in the engine department.
