Bike Swap - UK to NZ / Aus
Hi, I have a late 2016 Triumph Tiger 800XCA with full luggage, Tom Tom GPS etc that I've been riding around Europe on for the last three months. On 2nd Jan 2018 I land in Auckland for 10 weeks or so of travelling around NZ and Australia.
So the question is this: anyone with a similar machine heading the other way that fancies doing a bike swap to help keep costs down?
Ping me for more details or to ask any questions
Cheers
Pete

I can help?
Hi Pete,
no guarantees, but I can pass your request on to our NZ pages (i've ridden Europe/Scandanavia and it's awesome, plus your bike is well suited). Perhaps someone can help you out in a bike-swap exchange. Best to send me your email, and let me know if there are any restrictions. For a kiwi, its a great opportunity as I know the cost and hassle of sorting a bike for Europe (i did a bike swap actually and rode a Tenere 660Z over 18000kms)!

Thank you very much for taking the time to reply. Unfortunately I timed out and had to take the plunge and rent a bike at enormous expense. I was getting worried I’d end up without a bike and having to take the bus!
Cheers

Bugger! Yeah its not always easy 2find a bike swap, and u need time and LUCK. If i had a suitable bike, id have given it 2u, but all i have is my enduro Husaberg and my buell that needs a service (plus it's an XP, quite rare). I have a great bmw g650x u can use but it's in California waiting for me to return next year!
You will have a great trip regardless. Check out Remotemoto.com, my mate Josh has built that up by riding pretty much all of it. Super useful for planning an NZ off-road assault. Keep me posted

Bike in Aus
Hi. You still need a bike in Aus? Am a Canadian off to ride Scotland in July. A buddy in Aus wants to join us but needs a bike. He has a late model BMW sport type bike I could ask if he might be interested in a swap. Cheers John
He is located west of Sydney in Nsw

Hi bgang!
I'm in the UK, but will travel to AUS (Sydney/Melbourne area) from feb 25 to March 10 and would need a bike. I'm happy to lend my Bandit 650 based in Colchester, UK over the summer in return (if doesn't conflict with own dates for Scotland road trip or we could find an arrangement).
Could that work?

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
