KLR available in sunny Southern California
Love the idea of swapping bikes! I'm located in Rancho Santa Margarita California, about twenty five minutes inland from Laguna Beach. I've got a 2005 KLR 650 that has been modified for taller riders with 2" handlebar risers. A 2" raising link (Dog bone). A 1" lowering bracket for the foot pegs, and beefed up "Top gun" shock. In short (no pun), my bike isn't for smaller riders, but if you are 6'1" or taller, it would be a good fit. It's also got two detachable Pelican 1550 Cases.
If you live outside of the US, and ever wanted to see what the West Coast has to offer, hit me up. I'm open to riding pretty much anywhere outside of the US, so let's see if we can get something on the books.

Great idea! I'm a bit south of you in San Diego and would be open to something similar with my KLR.

My wife is pretty apprehensive about me letting someone take off on my bike, but I was pretty stoked to find this board. I think it could open up a lot of possibilities for a lot of people. I guess we'll just have to wait and see if there are any takers.

Hmm, interesting.
Always wanted to ride up the West Coast of the USA,
I'm in Cairns, in Queensland, Australia.
Got a good reliable 08 KLR with some basic mods, racks, bash plate, barkbusters and so on....
Could easily be talked into a swap.

Bikeswap
Hi there,
I am planning to visit my girlfriend in October, who is currently in Los Angeles performing research at UCLA.
I hope the offer still stands of swapping/ hiring/ borrowing a bike near Los Angeles. Because I would love to explore some of the Californian coast on a motorcycle.
I look forward with interest to receiving your response.

San Diego swap in Nov '17
Hi Folks,
Its been awhile since anyone posted here but looking through this tonight I thought I might give it a go.
I'm in San Diego in early November and interested in a swap or hire a bike for about 10 days only.
Your bike would be going to Baja sur and back with some local friends during the Baja 1000.
In return I would be donating the use of my bike to see Ireland, maybe explore the Wild Atlantic Way. Mine is a 2011 Vstrom 650 set up for touring. I am close to Shannon Airport so its a handy pick up point too.
Let me know if your interested.
Thanks.
