My GS1200 in Austin, TX for Accra, Istanbul, Cape Town, or Sao Paulo
Howdy! I will be traveling to either Accra, Ghana; Istanbul, Turkey; Cape Town, South Africa; or Sao Paulo, Brazil next March or May (2014) for a school trip. I will have about 1 week to ride around and see the sights. I'm open to almost any type of bike, preferably suited to the riding style of the country (sport bike in Ghana probably wouldn't be too great).
I have a 2006 BMW GS1200 at my home in Austin, TX that I'd be happy to offer whenever you may visit the US in return. You could even take it to Colorado or Utah as I have for some world-class riding. Or, if a visit to the US is not in your plans, I'd be willing to pay to rent your bike as well.
Cheers!
Tyler

Mehmet,
Thanks for the reply! Turkey is certainly one of my top choices, and my selection of destination will likely be motivated by the opportunity to ride. I've read about some of the great trips around Turkey by motorcycle. I would be flying into and out of Istanbul, spending a week there for school, then have about 6-7 days to tour around the country after that.
Do you have a bike you're willing to swap? I'm hoping for a bike that can carry 2 people, as I'll have my wife with me. We're both reasonably fit and resilient, so we don't need a grand-touring bike or anything. My wife rides on my GS1200 a lot, but she's even been a trooper on the back of my Yamaha R6 before.
Thanks!
Tyler

Merhaba,
Among your plannings,2 things almost impossible in my country.
1-SWAPPING.
There are three things Turkish people dont share.Vehicle is one of them.
2-LONG TERM PLANNING.
Unfortunately we live in the most problemed area of the globe.
When the time of your visit is closer, sure will check for the possibilites and current situation to hire a bike..There are some companies in South Turkey for this purpose..
You need minimum 3 days for İstanbul and 1 week will hardly be ok.for Gallipoli,Ephesus,Hierapolis and Cappadocia..
All the best.

To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
