Western USA (Idaho) BMW for Portugal / Spain /France

Looking for a swap for 3-4 weeks in late June to late July 2017.

I have a 1996 BMW R1100GS with cases and a 2007 BMW G650X with soft bag system available.

I'm in Boise, Idaho and close, by Western USA standards ;-) to many of the Backcounty Discovery Routes, National Parks (Yellowstone, Zion, Grand Canyon etc).

I would like explore Portugal, Spain, and S France, exact route TBD.

Please PM if you are interested.

Thanks!

gday from New Zealand...did that get your ears up at all? Just testing the waters as your g650x would be great for a bike swap. How do I know? I am on my 3rd one as a bombproof RTW touring bike. I just bought my 3rd in California (sold the last 2 for a profit instead of shipping), but a mate of mine is still looking for something to buy or swap. He's got some nice bikes to ride too in the South Island of NZ (riding mecca of the planet). Spinning around on a Ducati scrambler would be pretty good, or possibly on his 530 KTM set up for ADV riding?

I am actually organising a ride of the southern CDR and lots of BDR action in Colorado, Utah, Oregon, Washington for next July or August. I could likely find you someone to borrow your bike...just have to sort out how to get you one here which is easy, and get your bike to LA which is less easy (but cash sorts everything).

Just floating ideas for now though. So how do you have your X set up? Are you on the forum? I use the same handle there on ADVrider. My newest X has ohlins, renazco, leovince, xtank, hot rod rack, EMIG Racing dampner, LED aux lights, and a few other nice farkles. I rode #2 from LA to Canada via the CDR, then back south on the coast, then Baja, Mex, Central, and South America to Argentina over last year and beginning of this year. MoskoMoto Reckless40 is great but considering to go a little bigger for more comforts.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
