Wanted: Saddlebags
Hi All,
I know it's unlikely, but I thought I'd put it out there, just in case. I have set off with unsuitably small saddle bags and am looking to replace them. Here's what I'm looking for:
- 30-40Ltr each side so 70-80Ltr total
- throw-over version (strap or so that goes over the seat) - I don't have full racks to carry the weight but I have a system that prevents the bags from touching the exhaust and swinging into the wheel
- prefer tough material that can take a crash or three over waterproof material (the dry-bag type stuff scrapes open in my experience, no matter how tough they say it is)
If anyone happens to want to get rid of their bags along our route-ish, I'm all ears: El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Columbia over the next two, three months
To give you an idea: My dream bags are Adventure Spec Magadan Panniers MK3, but I cannot currently afford them new, especially not with shipping and import taxes to Central America. So in the meantime I'm looking for and improvement on my current, too small 40Ltr total set-up.
