This bike shouldn't be too much to handle in my opinion. I rode a ninja 500, triumph tiger 800, and street triple r before buying this bike. It's very well balanced and comfortable for long distances (especially cause you can put you feet on the engine crash bars and kind of recline).
As for transferring paperwork, I have a V-5 from the UK. All you really need is an address you can register the bike at. I can then transfer it to your name, at the chosen address (I had a friend in Scotland let me use their address).
