For Sale: 2008 Suzuki V-Strom - BC (West Coast) Canada $6450 CDN
2008 V-Strom purchased new from dealership. 36,000 km
Garage stored. Dealer serviced or serviced by licensed mechanic since new. All modifications installed by a licensed mechanic as well. This bike has been well taken care of and built up with extensive modifications for travelling, or for just great all around riding! The tank bag soft panniers and Jesse panniers are easy to take on and off if desired.
The custom rear Elka shock, upgraded Progressive 1.0 front springs and Gold emulators, greatly improved the the suspension on this bike, with the rear shock being adjustable to suite ones riding needs.
Have not ridden it much the past five years and would like to pass this bike on to someone who can carry on using it, and enjoy the bike.
Here is a list of most of the modifications and upgrades done to the bike;
- Cockpit GPS Mount (Non-shock) for Garmin Zumo 220 Motorcycle GPS -
Purchased from Twisted Throttle. Wiring installed from battery with
GPS plug and ready to go.

hold articles in the lid area in place.

high and low rebound adjustment
- Progressive Front fork springs replaced and Race Tech Gold Valve
emulators installed at same time
- New battery September 2016 and battery kept on CTEC battery tender
when bike in garage

- Fuzeblocks brand fuse box installed under seat to accommodate electrical
additions
- Flashing Halogen Tail Light Bulbs - provides intermittent flashing when
braking
- Acerbis Rally Pro Hand Guards
- Medium size light weight motorcycle cover for use when travelling
- Touratech Aluminium engine protector V2.0 - Bash plate
- Engine and fairing protectors
- Pyramid brand front fender extender. Keeps less road grime from coming
up
- Kaoko Throttle Lock Cruise Control. Not installed on bike.
- Sheepskin seat cover with attachments for easy removal
- Scotts Performance steering stabilizer damper & mount kit. Installed
- Touratech front signal lights installed (smaller than stock ones) plus one
set of spare signal lights with all wiring and attachments
- rear rack replaced with custom stronger larger rack with better
attachment points
- Front windscreen replaced with MRA windscreen with deflector shield -
this provides a virtually buffeting free ride even at highway speeds.
Purchased in UK. Still have stock windscreen along with a Lee Bailey
Custom windscreen. Will include them too.
- Touratech aluminium radiator rock guard screen
- Touratech aluminium oil cooler rock guard screen
- Touratech foot peg attached to side kick stand for stability in soft
conditions
- Heated grips
- Acerbis front soft panniers (removable if desired)
- ABS bypass switch

- charging port
- Touratech tank bag
- storage tube matching rear exhaust outlet
- three keys
- Suzuki centre kick stand
- Metzlar Tourance tires with less than 1,000 k on them, plus a front and
rear never usedset of Metzlar Tourance tires still in manufactures
wrapping
- CyclePump electrical emergency tire pump with electrical adapter
- Two spare clutch levers
- Additional set of larger Aerostich soft tank panniers that mount on the
pillion footpegs (not shown in photos)
- Lots of extras: original hand grips, two spare clutch handles, Touratech
oil filler lock
(not installed), stock brake light bulbs, cargo net, Jesse racks for top
of pannier lids - with hardware (not installed), plus other items.
- Hepco-Becker bashplate purchased from Adventure Motostuff, with all
hardware - not installed.
- Suzuki DL650 Shop Manual
The soft tank bag panniers are clipped to the crash bars by two clips at the bottom and two clips at the top and are removable by undoing the bottom two clips and then lifting them off the top two clips.
Have most of the receipts and packing slips as well as service records since bike was new.
Thanks for looking at this bike and if you have any questions please send me an email.
Cheers!

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
