USA: enduro bikes wanted for the TransAm Trail

Enduro bikes for the TransAm-Trail USA wanted

Wanted would be enduro bikes (KTM 690, Tenere 700, Suzuki 650, Husqvarna 701 ect) to drive the Transamerica trail in the USA. Ideally fully equipped with crash bars, bags, mounts for GPS. Gladly also recommendations where one could find such maybe (like cycletrader.com) and please share your experience with insurance / registration in the US.

Thanks for tips.

Start with narrowing to a couple of states where you'd like to buy a bike. This is a good thread, but there are others: https://www.horizonsunlimited.com/hu...nals-can-58648

Then figure out how to insure it--a moving target, but there is another ongoing thread about this which you'll find by searching the HUBB.

Locating a specific bike and making the purchase will be relatively easy--CycleTrader, Craigslist, Google.... Out of curiosity I just checked the motorcycle listings on the Los Angeles Craigslist--1500+ bikes for sale. In Miami, 650; Seattle, 1600+. You'll find something.

Hope that's helpful.

New IRC 50/50 tires, new front and back shocks with a 500lb spring, seat is low for me with a 30inch seam, my feet can touch the ground and I am using a Seat Concepts wider seat. It has a Rowe PDM60 device to manage all the electrical peripherals such as GPS, heated hand warmers, 20volt plug, heated jacket, auxiliary LED lights with power on/off switch, emergency hazard blinkers. The brake light has an auxiliary LED lights to signal right/left and stop lights. Strong handlebar with bar and hand guards. Aluminum luggage with locks and soft luggage, Happy Trails racks to hold luggage. Engine cover and tool roll attached to the bike. Full front fender to reduce mud collection but I have the original fender and all original parts. I recently had the oil, spark plug and valve clearance done. Much more, the bike is adventure ready. Extra parts such as brand new chain in box, brake pads, original replaced factory parts as fender and so many other parts to list on this ad, must see. I am selling the bike as a package, $5,000 firm. email me if interested, missrider26@gmail.com. Bike is in Massachusetts.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
