FOR SALE: 2 bikes (DR650 & KLR650) Colombia July

As we are finishing our 6 month adventure, we are selling our bikes. We have a Suzuki DR650 SE (2014) Canadian plated in British Columbia and a Kawasaki KLR650 (2004) US plated in California for sale. Both of the bikes are perfectly equipped for adventure, see the specs further down.
The bikes will be for sale somewhere in Colombia sometime in July. Ideally late July in Bogota, but we are flexible with time and place, so do contact us, and we will make it work.

We bought the bikes in Punta Arenas of other travelers, so we know all about how to do the paperwork. We spend many hours reading up on this before coming, and in both cases everything has been going very smooth. Don’t bother reading up on this, we are experts 

All maintenance have been done according to the service manual (or even better), with oil and filter change every 5000 km, air filter whenever needed (varies a lot with the road conditions) and cleaning and lubing chain on a daily basis.
Besides a leaking fork, we have had no mechanical issues what so ever. They have been so very reliable, which have made it so much more fun riding to the remote places, when not having to worry about break downs.

DR650 specs:
4th owner and will have around 72.000 km on the clock when finishing.
Does 25 km/L (4 L/100 km) at cruising speed of 90-100 km/h.

Recent mechanics done:
• New front brake pads (Yesterday)
• New spark plug (2k km ago)
• New rear brake pads (2k km ago)
• New DID chain and JT sprockets 16/42 (4k km ago)
• New wheel bearing in cush drive (6k km ago)

Extras:
• Stock airbox and exhaust with Suzuki 5-groove carb needle and extended fuel screw.
• Improved suspension (stiffer springs, revised damping)
• Moto-racks side luggage racks
• Wolfman waterproof side bags
• Wolfman enduro fender bag
• Acerbis hand guards with extended shields
• ProCycle Warp-9 4-finger levers
• Renthal SE bars CR-Hi bend
• Oxford heated grips (a real life saver in the mountains!)
• Cogent DDC (damper cartridges) with Eiback 0.525 fork springs
• RMR re-valved rear shock with Eiback 7.5 springs
• 25L Acerbis tank
• Custom made 3” PVC tool tube
Spare parts: : clutch cable, airfilter, rear brake-pads, rear and front tube

KLR650 specs:
3rd owner and previous owner had it for 10 years taking very good care of it. Will have around 107.000 km on the clock when finishing.
Does around 22 km/L (4,5 L/100 km) at cruising speed 90-100 km/h.
Recent mechanics done:
• New rear brake pads (yesterday)
• New spark plug (2k km ago)
• New DID chain and JT sprockets 15/43 (4k km ago)
• Cush drive rubbers fixed and new wheel bearing (4k km ago)
• New front brake pads (6,5k km ago)
• New front fork seals and quality oil (7k km ago)
• New radiator hoses (35k km ago)
• New battery (35k km ago)
• New clutch (35k km ago)
• New stainless steel valves and valve job (45k km ago)
• New piston and rings (55k km ago) was oil user; now only 0,4 L in 5000 km oil change

Extras:
• 25L safari tank
• Thermo Bob
• Happy Trails pannier racks
• Waterproof and lockable Pelican cases panniers (very spacious)
• Corbin seat (very comfy)
• After market “moab” rear shock (cost 750 USD)
• Oxford grip warmers
• Bark busters
• Voltmeter
• Two different 12V plug ins

Spare parts: Clutch cable, front and rear tube, spark plug.

A bag of all the tools you will need will also follow including a lot of different other stuff that will be handy such as different lubrications, glue, lock tight, tape etc. These bikes are really perfectly fitted for a SA-adventure with all the extras, tools and everything. We might also be willing to sell our riding gear/rain gear if it could have interest, but contact us about that.

We are hoping to sell the bikes as a pair and asking 5000 USD in total for them. We struggled a lot with logistics when buying the bikes independently and would like to save others for that. If it is not possible to do so, we will sell them a 2500 USD a piece.

If you are interested in buying our beautiful unbreakable adventure bikes you can contact us on WhatsApp on: +45 6053 6637 (Andreas) +45 2047 4795 (Rasmus)

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
