Selling Honda XRE300 in Chile May/June 2024
Hi, I'm planning to buy a 2016 Honda XRE300 in Colombia and ride it down to Chile, most likely finishing in May or June of this year. The bike is registered in Colombia, so it could be sold with a poder (power of attorney) and if you're heading north, you could register it in your name when you reach Colombia. If anyone is looking to make a trip like that and is interested in a bike let me know. Thanks!

Hey Bimrben, I wanted to tell you that I think that that is a good plan. The XRE300 sounds like a good bike choice.
You might have to take a bit of a hit when you go to sell it in Argentina, but in my opinion you are only going to lose 1-2k USD on it when it you go to sell it.
The XRE300 is a popular bike across South America. They sell it in Brazil and Chile too.
A couple of other potential options to consider are the AKT 200 TT and the Hero 200 Xpulse.
The advantage to these 200 cc bikes is you can buy them new for 10 million in Colombia.
Buying a used XRE300 for 15 million is probably worth the added money for that extra 100 cc's
Biggest piece of advice I can give you is to fire sale the bike at the end of your trip. You will rack up expenses if you have to wait a couple extra weeks to sell it.
