For Sale: XT660R in Namibia with Namibia Registration

Yamaha XT660R, first registration in Namibia 02/2010, 101156 km, blue, big engine protection from Touratech (TT), TT roof rack, TT box carriers, steering head bearing new, seat newly upholstered, located on a farm near the Windhoek Airport, negotiation basis 2300 Euro.
With the Namibia registration it is possible to cross the borders in southern Africa without problems (e.g. Botswana, Zimbabwe, South Africa), as far as they have their custom union.
Also it is possible to get the Namibia registration for a stranger, like me as German. The farmer of the bikes storage knows the necessary steps and will help organizing the paperwork.
The bike was originally equipped by the Gravel Travel tour operator for the use on the Namibian gravel roads and for short-legged newbies - it has a moderate seat height and an engine characteristic pulling the bike on low revs through sandy passages, ideal for unexperienced users, but likes speeding up to 130 km/h on the speedometer, too. After my first experiences with this XT660R I have bought me the identical model at home in Germany.
Currently the Corona rules in Namiba and around are moderate: wearing masks in shops, showing negative test at borders, but camping is possible, guest houses and restaurants are open. Of course the situation and the rules can change daily.
After several journeys on the XT660R in the southern Africa region I like to change the continent. Therefore the bike is on sale.
The bike will be sold without the aluminium boxes and without the tankpack.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
