Selling DRZ400E: Ethiopia or Sudan
Bought a DRZ400E (aussie model) in Johannesburg this September and since I never bothered to get a CdP, I'm going to fly back to Europe from either Ethiopia or Sudan.
Possible problems
- I lost the license plate in Malawi, but still have all the papers.
- I'm not South African, so selling it further in SA will be a hussle or even impossible. Might be able to resell it to my seller, since we are friends.
- Crossing borders will require a affadivit of my approval. So far (Namibia, Zambia, Malawi and Tanzania) none of this would be a problem since the officials are very helpful, but I don't know about Kenya, Ethiopia etc.
About the bike
- Bought it in tip top shape with 8000km on the clock. It now has 17000km and will probably have around 25-30000km when I'm done.
- Mechanically very sound with oil and filter having being changed every 3-4k km.
- Have dropped the bike about 10 billion times. Handlebars are rebend but eventhing major is perfect (forks, swing etc).
- Welded luggage rack without panniers.
Bought it for 3000$, will sell for 1500$.
A big gamble, but it's that what life's about? We can keep contact if you're unsure about my not yet crossed borders.
