F650 GS Dakar Battery
Need a replacement and it seems that this is not as straight forward as it might be?!
Any insight on a good battery that will fit without any mods to my '06 bike would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Rob.

It might help if you explain what the issues are that you have with this replacement; one for one of the same type/capacity shouldn't be a problem.

Thanks for the response Dave - sorry if not clear.
What I mean is that looking in to possible batteries, it seems there is lots of chatter on the web of people having problems finding a battery that is the right size etc, and end up having to do mods to get it to fit correctly.
There are no size specs in the Hayes manual and I no longer have the original battery on hand. Therefore was hoping if anyone had any insight on a brand / model that was a good fit.
Cheers,
Rob.

Ah!
Suggest you ask at your local Beemer dealer parts department, pick their brains, and then buy one elsewhere, cheaper, once you know the specs.
Alternatively, any good bike shop should be able to let you know the various manufacturers' products that fit.
Or a phone call to BMW motorworks?
Might be worth looking at BMW F650 Forums which will have specifications somewhere in there; I haven't looked there for some time but I think it got a new lease of life with the G650GS coming on stream.
But any Beemer dealer should assist, at a price!!
