Hello.
Since the last post on this thread, i've put about 15k miles on my bike. It's now time to go back to work, and procede with my up-grades. A recent trip through Death Valley truely put my front-end to the test. Heavier oil, with an extra 10ml on the compression side helped a lot with the handling, but even with the heavy cast alum. fork brace my biggest problem is flexing. I've been searching E-bay for the last few weeks for some suitable 48mm-50mm USD forks, but they are all too long. Even though i re-enforced my frame, i prefer to maintain the same ride height. Motocross forks are on average about 92cm. long. The stock Marazoccii forks are only about 82.5cm long. Could someone tell me if anyone sells larger diameter USD (up-side down) forks in this desired length.I've tried e-mailing HPN, no reply. Also, in an earlier post, AliBaba mentioned he tried the fork inlets for the stock forks. If you read this postm Ali, could you please give us an up-date. I'm sure the dampening characteristics are improved, but flexing is probably still an issue.
...as for the front brakes, i'm still carrying my ankor with 20m of rope for those emergency stops...NOT!!
