Good tents in Oz?
Hi there,
At the moment my tent is worn out almost completely and as I'm heading through Indonesia towards Oz,I thought about buying one over there. But I don't know or I can find good quality tents in Darwin for a goog price. Otherwise I'll have to get one send over from Belgium.
So if anyone can give me some info about that it would be helpful.
Thanks!
Cheers,Bossit!

See the tent thread on this forum - actually there's a couple - also this page tents info
Belgium isn't the only - or cheapest - place to get tents from! REI in the USA is very good, cheap and expert at shipping.

G'day Bossit, as for tents here in Oz there is a huge range to choose from, 'budget' models up to 'third-world' debt levels. The choice is yours, with the quality ranging in price.
My suggestion would be to purchase a 'swag'. What is that I hear you ask. It basically is a canvas ground sheet with a thin foam mattress. They are very common here in Australia as you can just put it down anywhere, the more expensive models come with a rain cover for wet weather. As for how much room they take up on a bike it is slightly more than a tent, however, it can be packed on top of your kit due to the canvas covering it is weatherproofed.
Just a sugestion for traveling in Australia.
