Heated jacket variable resistor?
Hi I have made my heat4jackets kit, nice kit easy to do. However I find it too hot so I would like to add some sort of variable resister into the circuit (I will proable mount it on/in the fairing) to drop the voltage, and hence control the heat output. I have seen the ones gerbin etc use and understand they are better(using less power by ossilating on and off), however they cost a bomb compired to a variable resistor.
However can some one whith more electrial knolage than me point me in the direction to go, I understand it needs to be 12V about 55W and the kit has a 20amp fuse So I need some thing that can take these powers. Has somebody done this before? The ones I have seen on ebay/google look perfect but I don't know if they can take the power the jacket draws.
Thanks alot George
