There is a good sized shop in Bangkok called "Paddock" or something like that. They have a pretty good selection of stuff, but its still not like you would find in Europe. But they certainly have more hot-weather gear than a European shop!
Thailand or Malaysia would be your best bets for gear as they have the most big bike riders. I wouldn't expect to find anything in Cambodia, not sure about Vietnam. But as a general rule the only folks who wear protective gear in SE Asia are big bike riders, mostly ex-pats and wealthy locals.

more expensive
Usually the stuff that is made here (thailand) can also be bought here.... for 120 to 150 % of the european price. (No, it's no typing-error)
Interesting huh?
Best buy in europe where you get waranty and advice from someone who actualy knows what the stuff is for...

nothing to buy in vietnam.
after searching for almost a year, i can that riding gear is not available in Vietnam, not the riding gear that you are looking for. there is no market for it in vietnam...big bikes are not aloud, by big i mean bigger then 200cc.
the other thing is finding a size that will fit an average westeren...
you can buy some gear in Singapore, but the price is not really tempting...
well sorry for the bad news.
and for the high prices in the country of origin, it is called antidumping...

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
