Tents - which to take
I have spent the last 4 weeks trying to find the perfect tent to take on an overland trip. My considerations were what I imagine most peoples are:-
- weight.
- packing size.
- good vestibule size to store gear, cook etc.
- ability to provide comfort in a very broad range of climates.
Each tent I looked at seemed to fit the bill on some of the above but there were comprimises on 1 or more area's. Whilst in the lakes I visited a tent show (not my normal past time) and came accross Lightwave tents. They seem to fit the bill exactly. Very light weight and pack size, you can buy each model with an extended vestibule, the inner is freestanding and in very hot climates e.g. India in May you can pitch the inner on its own for maximum ventilation.
You can also mix and match the different models to suit your needs. I will go for a T1 trek xt with a cylq outer to reduce weight.
Adam at Lightwave is also very helpful.
If you want any more info have a look at their website www.lightwave.uk.com
Hope this is of use.
