Help needed in Mexico DF (place to work on my bike)

Hi Folks, Ola amigos

I'm Matt from France, traveling around the world for the last 3 and half years on my 1150GS. I'll be in Mexico DF this week, heading "Tierra del fuego" !!

There is a few mecanic issues on my bike and I'm going to pick up some parts at the BMW dealer in DF. I'll have to replace throttle shaft, witch seems to be a lot of fun... Also have to fix a lick from gearbox seal.

I think that will take me a few days. I'm use to work on my bike but I hate do to that in a rush. I have no time limit, only money limit

I'm looking for a place to stay where I can work on my bike, take rest for my body and why not enjoy sight seeing in this city !!

Hospitality much welcome, also have the option to pay a rent for 10 days/2 weeks.

If anyone has an idea how to help me in my mission, please let me know !!

Cheers,
Matt

Thanks for your answers !!

Barry, I didn't know about the community link, that seems to be very helpful !!

Mike, Touareg also seems to be an interesting community, I'll try to get in touch with them. Maybe we'll meet in Vera Cruz... later, no idea when, I'm traveling on the no plan plan

Taz, I hope this problem will be fixed in Mexico, but for sure once in Guatemala I'll have some more mecanic issues and I'll be glad to visit you at your place ! I'll let you know in a couple of weeks/months when I'll be near your place

Have a good one !!

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
