Motorcycle rental in Cuba???Alquilar una moto en Cuba...
Hi All,
I know this is the America's section but since there isn't a carib' bit I'm going for it here...
Ok...can anyone help, I'm looking for a motorcycle in cuba for a few weeks in November. I don't really care about the type of bike or age or anything as long as it's enough to carry two of us and all our junk around for our 3 week trip. I'll ride anything with 2 wheels from a Fireblade to a CZ/MZ or one of those cosack flat twin things!
Mind you I guess it'd be better if it's at least a 250cc or bigger so that we can fit on.
Thanx all
...zade

let us know
Zade,
Whatever you end up doing for a bike in Cuba, please post it to the HUBB. I'd like to hear about how you fared in Cuba, if you were able to get a bike, etc.

good luck
I have just been to Cuba and all I can say is good luck, I did not see anything that would be even close to hiring a bike, maybe a scooter yes but as for a bigger bike no way. For starters Cuba does not import hardley a thing so you will see no Japnesse bikes, they hardly import Coca Cola because its American!!
Getting around on a motorbike would be just the shot but the whole time I was there I did not see a single, bigger bike or even like a trail bike 250 XR or nothing like that, that country is stuck in the last century, but thats why I went and liked it. Not trying to dampen your hopes but I would keep looking and look hard before going there with the expectation of finding something there, but having said that it may be possible you never know
Cheers

Cuba
Guys,
I have been to Cuba more than 20 times (I run a humanitarian project there) and I can almost 100% guarantee you you won't find anything to rent. There are some big bikes to be had but they are privately owned. If they rented to you, both you and they would probably get arrested for conducting "black market" business.
Maybe someday the island will open up and then you can find me there, renting Adventure bikes

I think its the other way round?
As far as I know, The Cubans don·t import/export "a lot" because USA dont want them to/let them!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
