Where do I get a bike title in Bc ?
Hey there,
I'm leaving from Vancouver,bc to hopefully usuhaia in mid february, and I was wondering where do I get the precious bike title in Bc, and just saw in a previous thread that some canadian provinces don't allow their release ??
Anyone with that experience ?
Also, looking forward to meet a riding buddy on the way down, please PM me...

BC does not issue titles. You'll be fine with the BC registration at least as far as Central America.

part of the insurance papers is the registration. its the paperwork at the bottom that matches the top. its all one sheet. you might want to check into a BCAA office and get some advice about that at their offices. good luck

We have had no problem with just ICBC papers as far as El Salvador. We did take our expiration date stickers off the plates. re insurance in Mexico Mexpro.com was the cheapest.

I wouldn't worry about that. Plates in Guate all say 2004 so who really knows what a B.C. plate should say in Guatemala?

owners title for BC resident
Thank you all for your help, and Sara I can't private message you as I'm to new (hasn't happened in a while) on the forum, I will be crossing Nicaragua soon, and would love to meet you and Daniel.
The trip to Central America has just started yesterday ( Feb 20 )
to make my way down to Panama and back (hopefully), and the first day is already eventful with a stop at Touratech and installed new James Bond gadgets on my F800 gs, took me all day to install lights, ect....
Day 2, a dead battery in Portland, , maybe related to a new fog light set up but it was installed with great scrutiny with Matt at Touratech and his colleagues who have done tons of installation, anyway it's part of the ADV .
so, I will keep you all posted as I go along under another thread.

Keep all records of the temporary importation permits as well as fuel and hotel/camp receipts to show ICBC to recover the insurance for the period you are in Mexico and south (so long as it is in excess of 30 days).

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
