1150GS Seat Options
I have a 1150GS, just love the bike, but I get numb bum after an hour of riding (100 kms). I'm looking for suggestions for a seat change or modification. The two that seem to keep comming up are Cee Baily(sp?) and Bill Meyer.
Anyone have any experience in this ?

Hi
Ive got an adv and it quite a lot worse than the standard GS (for my bum at least). Iron Butt riders, seem to use either Russell or Rocky Mayer ( www.billmayersaddles.com?). SOme people also talk highly of Ricky Mayer his brother. Cee Baileys - I thoughtthey just made screens. Then you are left with a range of others including Corbins.
I went with Ricky Mayer and his saddle is amazing. Rides of near 2000kms are not even slighlty uncomfortable. Why the hell anyone would want to ride for that long is another question. Each one has its proponents.

hi,
I've got a BMW R1100Gs with a terrible seat.
I had the same problems you have.
I ordered a Airhawk-seat over the internet,
it's a company that makes seats for wheelchairs and they have a few model bike seats as well.
basically it's a kind of cover you can inflate and just strap it on top of the original seat.
I've done 20.000 km. so far here in south-america, no more monkeybut and I still feel comfortable after 10 hours of riding.
It costs about US$200 so it might be a lot cheaper than ordering a custom made seat.
I hope this will help,
Mark
