Dri rider RallyCross Jacket = Junk
Bought the Dri Rider RallyCross ,and what looks to be on paper as the ideal jacket for hot climates has proven to be one of those disaster purchases.After 3months the mesh in several areas is starting to come apart and fray,with stitching along the sleeves and cuffs breaking.Definately a case of you get what you pay for and not worth considering.

I bought the Dri Rider Rally Cross gloves - returned after one week.

Replaced with the Rivet air flow gloves. They look to be acceptable.

I've emailed DriRider over the "CE" marked armour option for the jacket - their attitude is that the documentation is not legally required in OZ to prove they are in fact CE compliant. I won't be buying DriRider stuff. Well not unless things improve considerably.

I'm using an old RJays jacket - the water proofing in the sleeves is finally giving out. That has been a good jacket. Not a good hot weather jacket - no air flow through the material, but it has survived well including the small falls.

Hmm interesting, I was in Mick Hones this morning picking up a few spares and after telling Mick where I was riding he strongly suggested the Rallycross would be the ideal jacket. I didn't buy it, and intend taking my old RJays trakka with me to China/Russia for cooler weather, and possibly buying a new Dririder Urban as a lighter weight, but still all seasons, jacket.

I ordered the original rallycross jacket off the net and googled it, found out it was junk as you say then I upgraded for the rallycross 'evo' which is the next generation one and supposed to be ok however the water bladder had a hole in it so I'm waiting for a new one as we speak. So far I've had no problems with the jacket other than this (after approx 3 weeks).

I have owned a Rallycross for a number of years now and complained about the stitching etc when I first got it but to be honest nothing has actually broken on it.I found the internal water bladder tended to make the collar pull on my neck when full so use a camelback and I have a wet weather jacket that I use instead of the liner which is much easier than trying to zip the liner in.Overall for the price mine's not to bad.Judging by the number I see on the road and at rallies they seem very popular.

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive.
