faux sand paddle
I was experimenting with bead breaking this past weekend, trying to see if a small vacuum pump (weighs about 90 grams) would suck a bead in. Works on car tires (not both sides), so I thought I would check my motorcycle tires. Sadly, it did not work, as the tire carcass for a bike collapses differently than for a car. On the other hand, with the tread collapsing in, the tires became very scalloped, and I was left with imitation 6-paddle tires.
Obviously this only works for tubeless tires, and it won't work as well as a regular sand paddle, but for 90 grams, you might be able to get a bike without knobbies through some unexpected sand or mud.
I have not taken my SV650 into either the sand or the mud, so I cannot speak for myself, but if someone out there gets bored, you might want to give it a try.
