Good GPS seller
After near six weeks trying to get my recent garmin purchase to work, I threw in the towel. The seller (esellgps) Satnaveasy from whom I bought it agreed to take it back and give me a refund. None of the problems were of their doing or fault and they agreed instantly without any hassle whatsoever last Friday. Today Monday the refund is in my account.
I can recommend them as most companies are fine when things go well, the good ones stand out when it doesn't.
However if you are buying a Garmin, make sure you have a fast broadband connection as you will need to make several 3.54GB downloads. and also need to have the latest windows OS, Browser (preferably Firefox) and java installed As all of these will be needed to commission it.

Hmmm, the only things I ever have to d/l from Garmin are updates for firmware or a new version of MapSource. I can do that even with a mobile phone connection. However, I don't use any of their maps...

Yup, even I managed to update the firmware but the 17 hour download for the map failed twice at around the 14 hours (2.6 GB) limit. I had to use a friends machine with a faster broadband, Hers failed three times at about 6 hours into a nine hour download and once at one hour before it all loaded in on the fourth attempt. The radar database it screwed up completely and would not unlock the files on her machine, and would not down load at all on mine (seems I did not have the right software).

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
