Still the important thing is you gave it a go and you're the wiser for it.
There are plenty of things that I thought might be worth getting a patent for but when you know patents, you realise that there are so many things that will never be used that are patented 'just in case'.
One of my ideas (when I was 15) was a centre stand (or side stand for that matter) that was lockable. The idea was to stop bikes from being ridden away so easily and act as a theft deterent. If anyone finds a way to make money from it then I reserve the right to ask for royalties.
