Bourght another bike awhile ago (May 2011) and have been slowly as needed fixing previous owners mistakes, some people should not use tools.
On this bike was a YSS rear shocker, have read about them but never used on e before, noticed that the bottom rubber bush was worn and loose. so off with it to have a good look.
Contacted the YSS dealer here in Adelaide and he could replace so I thought l would clean it.
Had to aline the top and bottom and when put it on the bench could hear a hissing sound, oil all over the bench coming from the bottom.
Took it to the dealer and he said that the pin in the bottom for the rebound when moved had puctured the rubber seal.
Will need rebuilding.
So left it with him had him replace the bushes with bearing ones rather than just rubber ones.
On my return he had replaced the shocker shaft, all the seals and reset it to the bike.
The two bushes at the top and bottom cost $100 l knew this when l asked for them to be replaced, so now the price off the rebuild,
$120
after paying $650 for a bmw shock this was three years ago l found this to be the best news.and unless l totally destroy it, can be rebuilt over and over
The dealer Walter knew his stuff and also does suspention set ups and was a good man to deal with, so if your having trouble suspension wise look him up. .
