These are suzuki 350 fitted with a ténéré 34L tank, I think it looks good, though I rarely care about looks !!
You just need to get a tank you see visually could fit, around frame, handlebar, seat etc, then you go to a welder and ask him to adapt the fixing points the hard way.
PS tell him to be carefull with fuel remainings not to blow.
Good luck,
Matt

Thanks Matt,
The looks dont bother me either, as long as the bike is still comfortable-ish to ride !
Nice picture, the trouble is that the 34 Tenere tank is difficult to find in the UK these days, most Teneres over here have the smaller tanks.
I will keep an eye out for one though, and yes a thourough wash out before welding !!!
Cheers

CCMs have plastic tanks i think? if so, this will be no use at all!
i have seen home made tanks made larger (as big as you want, within reason) by cutting off the bottom and welding in gusset plates to make the tank taller. also works for wider/fatter.

If extending your steel tank, don't forget to either beef up the existing tank mounts or add extra ones. If increase by 10 litres, then thats an additional 10kg & the weight of the extra steel (2kg?). Factor in a tankbag & it may be too much for the stock mounts. Vibes will cause cracks & the end result may not be pleasant(fuel & hot engine/exhaust scenario......)
Keep the extra fuel load low but not too low as this may then necessitate the use of a fuel pump if you don't have one already.
If using crashbars. you could support the underside of the tank using a bracket from from the crashbars?

With CCM using the Suzuki engine now you maybe able to mod a Acerbis or IMS tank to fit. It will have been made to fit over the engine anyway, just not sure about the seat and frame fitting but could be worth a look.

Best of luck

i put a ccm tank on a dr big, so maybe a dr big tank (29l) would fit? the mounts will be all wrong but they both have large top ends.
