Hard Pannier Racks For DR 650?

Good evening all.

Have done a search and wadded through countless threads but could not find what I am looking for.

We are going to be using Pelican Cases and want to find out which rack best suits them for strength etc and also bring the cases as far forward as possible to keep weight more central as we won't be carrying passengers.

If anyone has so good input please let us know, some photos and names would be good.

Have looked at Moose racks etc but they don't seem to be available.

Many thanks Andi

Safari Tank pannier frames

'Safari Tanks' in Australia sell pannier frames for the DR650 on their website, they are pretty tough. But not cheap. (link)

Moto-Sport Panniers.

I have these, with both the soft Yukon bags and the hard Baja aluminum cases. I like them. The bags are interchangeable on the same frame. They also make a mounting plate for the Pelican cases. Very clean and simple, but like all cases they are not cheap.

Doesn't Caribou Luggage make the whole set up for the DR? If they do, I've used them on a different bike, pretty good value for the price.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
