Hi - I've been through this on a few bikes. For the winter I think the best solution should be muffs because of the shelter they give your hands but-
-they look awful
-they tend to stop you reaching the indicators/dip switch etc. I inadvertently switched my headlamp off one night while trying to dip - the muffs came off and haven't gone back. It depends on the fit you get, but my Oxford muffs gave similar problems on my Xt600, and two BMW Boxers.
In the end I always go back to heated grips and hand shields.Not quite as good but a lot safer.
Others may have had better experiences.
