4wd Accesories in Munich

Hi there

Does anyone know of a few good places where you can find accesories for a 4wd in Munich. In particular, I'm looking for a place to supply me with perspex (or clear plastic) 'covers' to put on the outside of the back windows of a toyota troopcarrier in order to have the windows open while it is raining. I suppose a caravan/campervan store might be able to help out as well, or even a place which can manufacture something like that...:confused1:

Cheers

Troopie bits

Hi Pumbaa,

You need Tom's Fahrzeugtechnik; Tom's the man for troopie parts. He's at Markt Bibart, halfway between between Nuremberg and Wurzburg, so not too far from Munich. (relatively speaking)

Regards,

Jojo

Pumbaa, apart from Tom's, there are a lot of German Toyota specialists:

Cruiser Connections
CRUISER CONNECTION e.K.
Kanalstraße 24-30
D-48308 Senden
Verwaltung:
Tel: +49 (0) 2597-939035
Fax: +49 (0) 2597-939309

But this is up near Munster.

Then Tourfactory:
Helmut Ginster Expeditionsbedarf
Alst 12 A, D-41379 Brüggen
Tel. : +49/2157/872277
Fax.: +49/2157/872272

But they are also up in the north... And these guys also...

Tobben Autohaus
Autohaus Többen GmbH
Schulenburger Landstr. 139 A
30165 Hannover
Telefon: 05 11 / 63 00 67
Telefax: 05 11 / 9 68 53 99

To be honest I think what you are looking for is a good idea, but perhaps difficult - I have never seen such a thing, and I have seen A LOT of Troopy stuff over the last couple of years... If you are in Munich it might be worth popping into Daerrs and asking in there if anyone has an idea. There is another Landcruiser specialist near Munich, but I can no longer find them in my computer... Good luck,
Gil

winddeflector

Maybe try also looking at 4x4tuning shops (instead of adventure/camping shops).

Products like winddeflectors can work really well, although marketed against too much noise they are perfect for camping, just leaves open a small but covered gap, with some models even hardly noticable.

Maybe difficult to find for your model but in the more luxury class they can be found OEM by Toyota, though I reckon their purpose are overtaken by the airco units.

cheers,

Thanks for all the replies. I will check some of these out. I have the wind deflectors shown in this picture (actually a little bit bigger) for the front windows, but the rear ones don't fit because the windows are bigger and I was thinking of getting some to cover most of the back window, so that the windows can remain open at night when it is hot and you don't have to worry about rain/water coming in. The rear windows on the troopy is slide windows, so i little bit more tricky
