Finished my rack!
The tail lift can still be used as a veranda once the bike is off...

hi stanH can you please tell me more about your motorbike tail lift/ veranda. i have a tail lift on my van rated to 500kg and i have a small bike that weighs less than 100kg.

i was going to take the platform off and make an exclusive motorbike lift, but i love the idea of keeping it on as a veranda.

pictures would be great if you have them?

thanks man

matt

hi matt,

The tail lift has now been removed as i have rebuilt the back body, but i do regret not keeping this bit.

It worked really well, the bike was fastened on with the lift in the vertical position. The bike was mounted on a rack that pined on to the tail lift so it was all easliy removable. The bike lifted up and down easliy and was carried out of the way when traveling. I will try and post some photos.

I have the bike rack for sale if its of interest to you, would go straight onto your tail lift..

cheers
Stan

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
