Fixing a Landcruiser in South America
I hope some of you old South America hands can help me.
I am in Buenos Aires, gearing up for a drive to Alaska in my 1993 80-series Landcruiser.
Here is the problem: I burned out my clutch plate in Nepal and they couldn't get a replacement, so they just did a "fix" that they said would last for 30,000 kilometres. It has worked fine until now, but I am concerned that I will have to get something done about it before long.
Question is, can I just keep getting temporary fixes done, or do I definitely need to get a new plate? If so where is the cheapest place to order the part, and how long will it take to get here?
Where is the best/cheapest place to get the work done? I am flexible between Argentina, Chile, Peru, Bolivia and Ecuador.
Many thanks.
