Fuel - Central Asia
Thinking about a couple of options with regards to roadtrips, and whilst I ultimately aspire to the full length of Africa, things like working for a living will sadly interfere.
As such I'm thinking about western asia(the 'stans/Georgia/Russia etc), and whilst I'm still going the 2WD route I'm curious as to the fuel situation over there, is it similar to Africa with diesel being the best bet, or are supplies of petrol readily obtainable(and can you legally carry 20/40 litres with you) and of reasonable quality(aiming for pre '91 car and if not I whip the cat out and put in a straight through pipe in it's place(and wire in the lambda).
Any advise greatly appreciated, looking to head out next summer for a few weeks but just starting to look at the vehicles(hence the LSD issue previously discussed) and petrol is a much cheaper option than restricting myself to diesel.
Cheers!!
