Garage/Mechanic in Gambia?
Our 300TDI Discovery is starting to make some creaks and groans, i think it's time the suspension bushes were replaced (i have a set with me). Can anyone recommend a good mechanic in Gambia?
Thanks
Paul

There is a Landy-specialist in the neighbourhood of the Senegambia strip, direction banjul. Coming from the strip after a while you see a sign (with LR-logo) turn left at the trafficlights and then first street left. Very nice english owner(s) and a competent group of mechanics.
BTW. this info is from dec2004 so it could be the sign(s) are gone by now, they are moved etc. Keep us posted.
succes

It's still there, saw it last week as I was driving by. It's on the last street to the right before the Fajara end (Senegambia Road) traffic lights on Kairaba Avenue heading towards Serekunda.

Save yourself the bother
There is a Landy specialist in Fajara, near the Safari Gardens Hotel, All the NGOs take their cars to him, he's usually pretty backed up and bloody expensive by Gambian standards.
I always thought that being a landrover mechanic was such a sensible career choice, It's a job for life.
Seriously though, if its just the bushings, take it to a back street guy, who will do just as good a job as the expat mechanic. Whoever you take it to watch them do the work or they might break 3 other things as they fix that one.

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
