HD back springs for an 80
Does anyone have any experience with Milners HD back springs for an 80 with an overland load?
(20% stronger, same height, £50 pr)
Even at 3 times the price OME would be the first choice I suppose - or Scorpion?
thanks for any input

Chris,
Milner - I'v never seen them fitted but I suppose they can't be worse than any other pattern spares they sell.
HD OME - maybe, depending on the load and its distributon.
Scorpion - :-((( Ask me how I know!
The preferred choice on the continent seems to be Eibach and King Springs. The latter are reputed to be very robust but having a tendency for sagging.

milner springs
I've got milner HD leaves on my H60 and they were fine on our recent run to the gambia. we were very heavilly loaded and making a bit of progress so they had a fair test. these things are relative though, I've never tried OME and my old springs were totally knackered.
I took spare bushes though as I have heard that is a poly bush fails it just drops out, wheras a rubber one will fail over a period giving you some warning.

Hi Andy,

As I've said, most of the stuff is pattern parts. It's a matter of personal preference if you want critical componets to be cheap or reliable. Ask Pigapitcha what he has to say, too.

From personal experience - after 12 months of light use D/S springs sagged by 3cm. After 3 weeks in Africa I noticed, quite unexplicably, that the car was level again. Upon closer examination the mistery was solved - the rear P/S spring was broken on the first coil.
