Mounting/Storing 2 Bicycles on a 110
So ........
Although not decided yet, I am mulling over the idea of taking our two push bikes on our trip to Oz from UK. Our bikes are two cheap (approx £100) mountain bikes that we would like to utilize for a little off roading and mainly some general stuff when we set up camp for a day or more, which we intend to do often. We realise that if we do take them there is a chance they could get knicked/knackered easily, and this is something we could easily prepare ourselves for (they are only going to be given away to friends in the UK).
So far my thoughts are to put the two of them (locked) on the roof rack minus front wheels and saddles, which I think we could stow away in the back easily enough. Putting them on the roof rack would mean we would loose the easy convenience of some of the storage, and also mean that genreally we would have to use the back entrance into the roof tent each night.
I did see mention of a spare tyre bike rack, and found a Thule one with a quick search on google - Allen Bike Racks Deluxe 3-Bike Spare Tire Rack . Does anyone know of the good and bad points of these?
Any other comments appreciated.
Cheers
