Anyone in Istanbul at the moment?
Arrived today and stopping for a month (well, kinda, Istanbul is going to be my hub of operations and I will explore turkey a bit)
Anyone in the area fancy a drink and to exchange war stories?

I'll be there in about 2 weeks time riding down on my BMW 1200 RT, I expect to get there afternoon Sun 27th July and stay for 2 nights, then heading south, Izmir direction for 2 days then overnight ferry to Athens.
I have booked a hotel in Sultanahmet by the Blue mosque, which part of town are you in? and is the driving in Istanbul as bad as we hear?
Just been reading about your route, how has it been so far?

Not sure if you and born and breed Welsh, but I am from Port Talbot originally so we will understand each other at least!!

yeah but love stories tend to get a bıt... messy!
İt was an absolute nıghtmare trying to find the hostel in İstanbul. The drivers are worse than any story I heard before getting here! I think the best way to approach them is like a bull in a china shop! Close your eyes, scream your battle cry and cross your fingers. It worked for me!
Right now İ am by the blue mosque, I mıght have moved by the 27th but by that time I wıll know the area pretty well so gıve me a shout when you arrıve.,
Commuter, I mıght be headıng down, ıf I do I wıll pm you to see if your stıll about.

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
