Bazargan Border (Turkey-Iran) Open?
Hi, We are due to cross the Bazargan border crossing on 1st Sept to Iran. As we are British we must have a guide who will meet us at the border, however I have just had an email from the company saying that they have been told that the Bazargan border crossing is closed and have advised us to change our plans?!
Has anyone been through recently who can confirm that it is open?
I can't find any recent info to say its closed only a report from earlier in the month, it was closed when an Iranian truck was torched.
Thanks
Jaime

gürbulak-bazargan Currently entrance from iran closed, exit to iran open.Things may change so fast. The more south 2 are closed a few days ago...
Between doğubeyazıt and gate you may get some stones and sticks thrown by children of illegal immigrants.hope checkpoints work regularly.
All the best...

About 2 weeks ago,Iran stopped the exit of Iranian number plated trucks to Turkey as they have been put on fire..But current news are no problem from turkey to iran as said by local mayor.
""Ağrı Valiliği: Gürbulak-Bazargan Gümrük Kapısı'nın Kapalı Değil
Ağrı Valiliği, Gürbulak-Bazargan Gümrük Kapısı’nın kapatılmasının söz konusu olmadığını duyurdu."""
Just better not to enter doğubeyazıt town as the area is completely under military operation and roads from doğubeyazıt-gürbulak to north and south are all closed..
Have a nice trip and Iranian hospitality after a few stressfull days sure will be great....

That means that one cannot use that border crossing at all? How are the other border stations?

We passed through without any issue, we got to the border early (6am) and all went smoothly.
We have met a few others on the road who also had no issues, all crossed through in early september though so things might have changed recently.

No one has crossed this border recently? Do you know if you can buy the insurance in the border?
Thanks

How recent are you looking for David?
We were there 31st August and it was all fine.
I believe you can buy insurance there, we were offered some, anyway. But he didn't really seem official, so I'm not 100% sure.
