Black sea ferries to Georgia?
Having looked at a tourist brochure, I am sorely tempted by a visit to Georgia: looks beautiful.
But time and costs mean the fewer visas, overnight stays and miles getting there the better: so, are there any ferries from the west coast of the Black Sea that go to Georgia?
Any idea of cost, duration, restrictions etc?

I actually got some info from the web, too.
http://www.ukrferry.com/eng/services/ferry.asp
I emailed them.
Prices were not too forthcoming: they said refer to the website, but there was not visible mention of the cost for a motorcycle...
Sailings are once a week.

From where you are, the straightest journey is probaby through Russia to Tuapse, or other ferry ports on the Black Sea. Easily done in 3 longish days riding and the Narva/Ivangorod border is the fastest road crossing I have ever encountered for 'mainland' Russia (ie. excluding Kaliningrad) 20 minutes - even quicker than yesterday at Domodedovo Airport, Moscow!
Good tarmac all the way and 3 longish days riding (done it), albeit a bit boring across the steppes.
I believe ferries still go from there to Georgia - but I could be wrong.
You only need one Visa (you hold a GB Passport I believe) - Russia.
Russian Embassy Visa Fees vary as to which country you apply from - I believe Finland is about the cheapest, GB the most expensive. EST?
There is of course still no land crossing between Russia and Georgia proper- but the border could reopen as quickly as it closed.

Good pionters about the Visa application country.
Don't know about Estonia, but if the difference between here and finland is more thana ferry ticket it is worth investigating closely!! Thanks
