Bike insurance
When you get your insurance check the cover is European and not EU. Companies like EBike are only EU so places like Andora, Switzerland although in Europe are not in the EU (Economic Union). Could find yourself riding from Germany to Italy via Switzerland with no insurance cover!

eBike WILL cover you for Andorra, Switzerland as well as Norway and Croatia, although they're not EU, just look at the policy wording.
So, rather than look for EU or European cover (which doesn't mean much either), look for exactly what they cover (i.e Territorial limits)

Insurance info
Hi fcasado. I think they need to get there act together. I rang to get a quote in January when my insurance was due. As I do a bit of running round Europe I asked if the cover included travel around Europe. I was told that the basic policy covered all eu countries and when I asked do you mean all of Europe, the gent said if you are in the eu you are covered. I said Switzerland is in Europe but not in the eu will I be covered if I ride there, after a pause he said I thought Switzerland was in the eu! I said no its not, then you would not be covered!!.
So went to Carol Nash when asked the same question he said yes Switzerland is covered and so is Andora, we cover a lot of trail riders there. And he was very well up on which countries/areas not covered by the policy and told me so. So guess who I went with. and was only £15 dearer.
So if my info is wrong sorry but thats what I was told. May be a little geography lesson may help them.

Hi Ted,
They really are very confusing, and I had to email them a few times to clarify some bits of the policy.
As I'm off to Europe for 4 months in June and I had to make sure of what the insurance really covered, and eBike won't have a "limited period of cover" abroad, which is good
As they've been for not very long in the market, they still have to put a few things together, but seems a good value...
Cheers
Fernando

p.s. - Always e-mail them rather then ring, cause you know how good they're when it comes to give information on the spot

not quite right
yes a citizen of the us can buy a bike in manchester but no you cannot get insurance for said bike unless you have a current address or utility bill saying that you are a resident of the eu. carol nash and one other insurance agent repeated that information. left england and went to perpignon and the same info not a resident no insurance south of france was lovely but no bike so came home-next time will bring my own bike problem solved.
