Camping / Cheap Accomodation Frankfurt Germany
Hi everyone,
My bike and I arrive to Frankfurt Germany next friday the 14th from Buenos Aires after my time on the Pan Americana. I was wondering if anyone knows of cheap accomodation or camping around Frankfurt Flughafen?
Or in a reasonable distance, Flight gets in around 16.30 then have to get the bike from lufthansa aircargo.... I am going to ride south to Italy through Switzerland and take in some of Bavaria to, before eventually returning home through France and the UK to Ireland.
Ps anyone around and fancy a ride?
Though I believe it maybe a little cold.. but after 9 months of summer i think i am ready for a bit of cold!

Kev, when I arrived in Munich at the end of my Americas trip, I touched down at 3.30pm on a Friday afternoon and was riding away on my bike 2 hours later having cleared customs and put it all back together again- you just can't beat German efficiency!
But be prepared to wince every time you fill up though, it ain't cheap after South America.

Frankfurt and cheap are mutually exclusive. I think your best bet would be the Youth Hostel, but I advise to book ahead.
Also, it will be after 17h until you get to customs. I don't know what hours they keep at the airport, but I suspect that you will have to come back the next day.
March is often cold and miserable in Germany, so most camp grounds will be closed. I suggest an internet search and contacting a few HU communities. Check out the accommodation forum. You can also ask here: Das Motorrad-Reise-Forum :: Index Generally, YHAs are the cheapest accommodation there is, except in Bayern/Bavaria, where you must be under 27 (I think) to be able to stay there.

thanks for the info guys, re coming back the next day, the cargo terminal closes at 6, My flight from Bs As, has a connector in Paris, with a long time between them. Might see if there is an earlier flight once i get there.
Thanks though, looking on the hostel sites etc i think your right frankfurt and cheap dont seem to go together. !
