Croatia - Montenegro - Bosnia
Hi, I'm planning a trip in those areas. The executive summary is:
- 10 days;
- starting from Greece (Igoumenitsa);
- target is Split passing from Mostar - Dubrovnik with a short stop in Hvar or Brac or Korcula.
- Any experience or advice would be appreciated.
- Do you have experience of transition from Macedonia and Kosovo ? Are there any problems trespassing this regions ?
- The border Albania - Greece just in north of Igoumenitsa for going to Buthrotum ruins is open ? The border I ask for is the one between Sagiada (GR) e Konispol (Al).
Thanks in advance for your contributions.

The border is open and pretty straightforward, just bring photo id (or passport) & green card.
The road up to Saranda (SH97) is single lane good asphalt with the exception of rather big potholes just outside of the town. For the SH98 towards Butrinti you'll have to take a cable ferry to cross a river.

If it's not a big detour, I suggest to ride Niksic (Montenegro) - Trebinje ( Bosnia) - Stolac - Mostar road. Perfect scenery, twisty mountain roads, simply beautiful.

* No problems to pass to Kosovo or Macedonia
* Border open and no problems
* Keep in mind, coastal road can have heavy traffic, you can feel boring sometimes...
* Very nice ride. Do not follow a daily ride plan. Just feel free to ride though you have 10 days, quite enough. Now I am regret I didn't stop, stay and swim at some places (especially in Montenegro).
Enjoy it...

I went through in the first week of sept from Montenegro.
Minimum duration 14 days insurance was 15 euros.

To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
