Cyprus Green Line
My question: is the Green Line open? So is it possible to go from North Cyprus to South free, and spend any days and return?
Is is possible to go by ferry (with motorbikes) from Turkey to Cyprus, to make a full Cyprus round trip and come back on the same way? Which ferry? From which Turkish city? How much is it for 2 persons and 1 bike? How long time does it take?
Is anybody in HUBB who is living in Cyprus? We would like to go to Cyprus in April, so any information will be fine!
Thank you
Szabi

hi Szabi
if you are holding eu passport it is possible for you to cross between North of Cyprus (namely, Turkish Rebuplic Northern Cyprus) and South of Cyprus (namely Greek Controled part).
from Turkiye there are ferries between Tasucu (TR) and Girne(TRNC) everyday. go and visit:
Shipping in North Cyprus: FERGUN Shipping
for prices and time table. Tasucu is small place village in Mersin googlemap link:

Girne googlemap link:
Google Maps
and yes, you can come back using the same way to Turkiye and then to Europa.
hope this helps

Szabi,
If you look at the Middle East forum under 'Car ferry from Israel', you'll see a post from a Hubb member in Cyprus called Antonis.
You could also try 'Contact a Community' if you look down the left sidebar on this page. Cyprus is listed.
Hope this helps,
Indoors.

Hi Szabi
I did a trip from UK to Cyprus exactly two years ago. Overland through France, Belgium, Germany, Austria, Hungary, Serbia, Bulgaria and into Turkey. I used the ferry from a port called Tasucu in to Kyrenia in the north of Cyprus then had to cross to the south via the only vehicle crossing which was then open at the racecourse.
You can find some details of the trip here:

If you need any more info please let me know.
Cheers
Tony

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
