Try this web site

mon-essence.fr - it uses your location to display nearest fuel and price

It's getting worse by the day - some stations only let you have €20 worth of fuel - not a real problem on a bike but some long ques at times. SP 95 not too bad, SP 98 and diesel running out quickly.

Some of the supermarkets are switching off their 24hr 7/7 pumps after closing to stop panic buying, and jerry cans and other containers are prohibited at all stations local to me.

It was real in Rouen last Saturday evening; at the time I thought it was the "traditional" top up the tanks before the French sabbath.

Earlier, the CGT were protesting on at least one of the roundabouts in Rodez with a stack of old tyres and timber pallets to hand.
Nothing else happened while I was passing that way.

Some sort of Euro football thingy is occuring in France soon, so that will distract them for a while.

We had to travel from southern Spain to near Nantes on Sunday for a funeral and had been pre-warned of the fuel shortages. We filled up before leaving Spain and then again near Bordeaux without problems. Further north the first two fuel stations we tried on the return journey on Tuesday only allowed €20.

I was talking to some British bikers who had been stranded for two days further north until they could get some small supply.

Looks like it's starting to hot up even more. Off to Italy for a week on Saturday morning. Looks like plan B is in place. Belgium/Lux/Germany.

Came back from mid France over weekend no diesel on the a26 and they would only allow thirty euros of petrol. No jerricans either.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
