Germany, Poland, Slovakia, Austria
Looking at a 2 week trip, leaving the UK in approx 2 weeks time. I want to Include a visit to Auschwitz, and spend a few days in Slovakia. I will be passing through all the countries above, so if theres any friendly faces or good advice on places to visit, it would be very welcome & appreciated.
Thanks in advance

Hi
Have done most of that area on a number of occassions so -
Slovakia - Banska Bistrica , Bardejov , Trenchin , Spiska Hrad ( ruined castle ) are all worth a visit .
Poland - Wrowclaw , Zwiec ( as in the ) , Dukla Pass ( runs from near Bardejov and into Poland ) Zakopane , , Krakow and if you can make it that far Lublin ( also has a concentration camp on the city limits , reachable on bus from town centre - made my blood run cold ) .
Along North of Slovakia it is pretty , you cant ride around the tatras as you can the alps , you just cross them at various points . All the towns i have mentioned are pretty much on or near the border without having to go too far . Zwiec is a stop over , it has a very sunny square with an ace bar in the middle and lots of stunning young ladies
If you go to Auschwitz , you need to be there by 0800 , so you can do both camps as after 1000 you have to join a group rather then wander about on your own . Personally i found the Lublin camp had far more impact - it was virtually deserted except for a school group and it bordered peoples gardens !! The trenches at the rear where they shot 18000 + in one go are still there................... plus the old town is dinky and lovely when its sunny .
Mind your speed in Slovakia - radar is everywhere and well hidden
Any more info just PM me , will dig out my maps

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive.
