Guesthouses, cheap hotels, tyre shops near Thessaloniki?
Hi, were planning to arrive in Greece about Oct 14-15, and spend a few nights in or near Thessaloniki for bike maintenance, etc., and maybe also go see the Meteora monasteries (Ive been there and its a fantastic place, would like my travel companion to see it, too!)
Anyone aware of any accommodation that could perhaps be pre-booked by internet or telephone? Were planning to stay a bit on the cheaper side, dont mind if its not in city center, can be 20 or even 50km away long as its not impossible to find. A nice B & B would be just fine, too. If its a city area then garage or other safe parking for the bike would be essential.
BTW, I´m looking to change tyres while in Thessaloniki.. the bike is a Vstrom650, Michelin Anakee, Metzeler Tourance or similar would be ok, but its a long time since Ive been there. Anyone have info if there are any well-equipped bike shops around there?
Any info or contacts would be warmly welcomed!

Hi,
Excuse me, my reply maybe too late
about motorcycle shop;
There are plenty of motorcycle shops. You can get new tyre and parts easily.
I recommend you "PROBIKE"
The shop is famous in Thessaloniki. The manager is a president of YAMAHA meeting ? in Thessaloniki. They are very helpful for tourists!
about accommodation;
in the city there are no cheap hotels, I think.
If you have a tent, you can find many camping sites in Halkidiki (near Thessaloniki).
Please refer to the following;

SEAGULL NOTE: Halkidiki (Thessaloniki), Greece

bit late now but as I'm in the city now and it might help a future reader of this thread, there are plenty of cheap hotels (25 euro single room shower and loo down the landing) just go to the main hotel part of town which seems to be on the one of the main streets called Egnatia Odos
can,t see any reason to book in advance
